1:1 energetic plant medicine SESSIONS
Work With Me
Have you ever been curious about finding ways to connect with the plants in your lineage and your neighborhood?
Do you believe that nature has medicine and magic?
Are you interested in deepening a connection with plants in ways that move beyond capitalist extraction and into meaningful reciprocity and authentic connection?
Are you drawn to art, writing and working with plants as practices for personal and collective liberation?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, I encourage you to read on.
As a 3rd generation Filipinx community herbalist, with a speciality in narrative herbalism: I work to facilitate joyful and meaningful connections between plants and people to support generational resilience and collective wellness and liberation!
I feel firmly rooted in the belief that every person has the capacity to channel their ancestral plant gifts and intergenerational resilience. And that we all have meaningful connections to the plants in our ancestry and in our bioregions. We just need spaces to remember those deeply nourishing connections.
Are you interested in being one of my first 10 practice clients by July 31, 2025?
I will offer a low cost/sliding scale fee for the first 10 clients. After July 31, 2025 I will be raising my fee for clients who want to work with me. This is open to people at all levels of familiarity with herbalism.
What I offer:
Ongoing 1 on 1 or small group sessions where we can explore, develop and reflect on practices that can support you in deepening relationships with plantcestors* (plantcestors is a term coined by Lebanese ethnobotanist and herbalist Layla Feghali of River Rose Remembrance.)
1 on 1 work can look like: supporting you with research on plantcestors from the regions of your ancestry, better understanding the medicinal, energetic and folkloric stories of your plantcestors, making herbal medicine together with your plantcestor that you can use regularly, developing a physical journal documenting your process of developing those relationships, collaborating on a zine about your plantcestor, creating a recipe book, and more.
I work with you as a fellow traveller and co-journeyer and provide coaching, emotional support, and hold space in ways that can empower you, motivate and inspire the process of relationship building between you and the plants.
What is narrative herbalism?
A therapeutic practice that bridges people and plants together through discussing the plants of your culture and lineages. Some examples are: herbal storytelling & folklore, herbal history, and expressive arts.
Why work with me?
I have over 10 years of training in community herbalism, expressive arts counselling, indigenous psychology, and Filipino ancestral folk medicine through Ancestral Apothecary of Oakland, Now and Then Herb School, Blue Otter School of Herbal Medicine, Braided Wisdom, and California Institute of Integral Studies.
As a queer & trans 3rd gen Filipinx herbalist and artist, I bring a sensitivity and understanding of how being different in the world can affect inner and outer relationships with family, community and the world at large. While my identity may be similar or different from yours, I bring a respectful and compassionate lens that meets you where you’re at.
What sessions with me look like:
I start with a longer intake session of 90 minutes, and do at least three 60-minute follow up sessions (1-2x/month) depending on what direction we want to go in.
Somatic exercises that support your narratives of resilience and kinship with the more-than-human world.
Creation of a plant guide to support you in deepening connection/relationship with plants that can be emotional and spiritual allies to you. I also create “homeplay practices” that support shifting your perspective towards wellness and healing.
Follow up sessions can look like: meditations with your plant allies, plant communication 101, expressive arts plant exercises, and journaling.
Why I care so much about this:
Plantcestral wisdom has transformed the way I move through the world! My connections with plant allies have supported my own trauma healing and growth and I want to make these tools more accessible to my communities.
I believe that it is our birthright to remember our kinship with the more-than-human world, and plants have so much to teach us.
We all carry the medicine of the plants in our DNA, and tapping into these gifts can awaken us to life more fully, as we navigate the seasons of life.
What this is not:
While community herbalism has therapeutic qualities, it is different from psychotherapy and can be a complement to your own psychotherapeutic healing work. I am not a psychiatrist and I cannot diagnose. Although we touch upon intergenerational trauma, I cannot meet with folks on a weekly basis to process past experiences. I am open to collaborating with your therapist with your consent, as needed to be a part of your wellness team.
I am not yet a clinical herbalist. (But I am training and will be in a few years!) So currently, I cannot create formulas to support ongoing chronic physical ailments. But I do work from the perspective of emotional and spiritual wellness through intuitive counselling, energetic and narrative herbalism, and storytelling.
